Japan 2016: Day 2 (Sunday with the parents)

Cheesecake breakfast is a thing, isn’t it? Well, that’s what we had for breakfast again, and it was still delicious. We didn’t get our fill of Tokyu Hands yesterday, so we ran back for some more splurging then sneakily having some onigiri from the Isetan food hall before meeting up with the parents to have lunch at Roppongi Hills because I wanted to check out the Chibiusa cafe and the Sailormoon exhibition. Too bad the wait time for the cafe was over three hours, though. Off we went, in search of some more reasonable wait times and we ended up having steaks – some grade four beef of melty goodness.

We hung out with Doraemon and Shin-Chan at TV Asahi and bought lots of crap from the gift shop out front…There was even some Sailormoon goodies in there!

It was still early, which is a bloody miracle when my parents are involved, so we decided to check out the Tokyo Station area; Mum needed new shoes and we needed some omiyage.

Sustenance was required post-vigorous-shopping, so we wandered around for a while before we (I) settled on takoyaki. Along the walk we happened past a “candy house” (おかしのまちおか) that was a mini junk food convenient store and perfect for purchasing snacks for friends.

After a quick rest session at home we were back on the streets in search of some dinner nearby. Highly recommended by Mum and Dad Yee. I don’t think I’ve had a bad food experience yet. I’ll let you know when I hit one.
